Rough Cut of Music 8/1 @ The Surge
There are things we can do to improve the mix... but here are my notes:
- Overall level needs to come up
- Drums are OK, could come up a little, kick needs up a fair amount
- All other instruments need to be much louder
- Katya was a little too loud, she sounded fine, but was hot in the mix
- Red light is a no go - asking the Theatre for other / better options (the lower light = grainy capture)
- Need to think about blocking the shots better, so we can see everyone individually
- Need to be more aware of music stands and my table, which was blocking Dwaine terribly on Daughters
- Cameras may need to tripod up a bit to get to eye level better
- Going to try the closer shot from the other side of the room to see if that works better
