Our special music this morning is Money by the Beatles. Financial Peace University is starting next week but we need to order materials! So it's very important to sign up if you want to join. The class is $99 (and it's well worth it) but if you don't have $99, come talk to us, we have help with a couple of scholarships available. Be here at 10 am next Sunday morning and the class will be up in the Green Room! Firehouse is this Tuesday night! 6:30 for Dinner, 7:30 for music and a message. Close to 100, 20 and 30 somethings are gathering once a month at the Barn (1988 Kirby Road) for a time of community and connection - so check it out! We're launching our Budge It series, moving finance in a heavenly direction this morning and we're looking forward to God's heart about living well.
It is Memorial Day and we want to remember our veterans those who have sacrificed in service to our country... take a moment and express gratitude to any service member in your network! Later on Sunday, May 25th, there will be a concert at Wolftrap - featuring the Marine Band and fireworks, gate at 6:30, concert at 8, fireworks around 9:30. It's a great event if you don't already have plans. Financial Peace University, starting soon - in the green rooms at the State Theatre on June 8th - if you're interested in a wonderful class in how to retire debt and manage money well - this is a great opportunity. Just contact us! Check out our small groups in Falls Church, McLean, Herndon and Chantilly... if you're not in one already we would encourage you to join - these are great groups with amazing people. While we do want to celebrate mother's today, we do understand that this day covers a lot of ground and for some people a lot of emotion... if you've lost a mom, or a child, please know that our hearts are with you and our prayer is that God will be near you today... Special Music: Hurt by Trent Reznor, sung famously by Johnny Cash Dwaine is out, his daughter is getting married this weekend, so joyous occasion! And Iason and Julie are getting married this coming weekend... so two weeks of E in a row as our pastor is out for multiple weddings! He'll be talking about Solomon, but has promised to NOT cut a baby in half as a message prop. This coming week, SAW will be having a potluck and an open mic at the Barn this Saturday, starting up at 7pm - and you're invited! Small Groups rock, contact Emily for more info! The Marine Band Kid's Concert is today at 2pm at the Rachel Schlesinger Center on the Alexandria NOVA campus, just google Marine Band and it will give you details. The theme is Schoolhouse Rock, so conjunction junction and I'm only a bill are coming back! If you haven't already, don't forget to call your mom and apologize for your misspent youth! Welcome - We're continuing our Story series, with a chronological run through the Bible, today is Story, Chapter 11, From Shepherd to King - we'll David a little differently! Special music this week, is Shooting Star, Bad Company Small Groups, Falls Church, Herndon and Chantilly! Contact us for more information! New Member class went swimmingly, and we have more! The next session will be Monday, May 5th, food and some great stuff in store. The first 4 people will get a free Llama! This session has homework, so if you wanted to come but missed the first session let us know and we'll get you what you need! Firehouse is this Tuesday, May 6th, with an outdoor BBQ and a night of worship. We're expecting about 100 20-30 somethings for a great time of music, food and community.
