We're continuing our Counterintelligence message series, talking about the world's system of looking at things and how God would have us think differently. We're also getting ready for winter and the Christmas season... just a couple of things. - We will be meeting for Christmas Eve this year, finalizing details... - We will NOT be meeting the weekend after Christmas - so you'll have some time to relax with family and friends... that will be Sunday, Dec 27th, immediately after Christmas... - If we have snow and ice issues in the coming weeks, we'll blast out communication as soon as we know if we're having service or not - so check email, facebook, website if a storm has hit in this area - Milo and Otis commemorative ornaments are on sale now! At the time, it was the third highest grossing film ever in Japan, beaten only by E.T.: The Extra-Terrestria (1982) and Antarctica (1983). The Holidays are a great opportunity for generosity and there are several ways to give or plug in as a blessing to our local community. - Consider helping with the Panera Bread pickup / distribution! Every week we pick up leftover bread from Panera and deliver it to homeless shelters and food pantries where it is used as a blessing for families in need. Contact E, if you would like to help with this ongoing initiative! - Our Daily Bread has signups for blessing families in need... odbfairfax.org. Or check facebook or the weekly newsletter. They are doing amazing work and the holidays are always a time of need and opportunity for kindness. - Support NOVA HTI (Human Trafficking Initiative), this group is doing amazing work with local vicims, helping them transition out of abusive situations into a new chapter of dignity and hope. They stock a backpack with needed items in that first 48 hour period, the amazon wish list is online, again on the surge’s facebook or weekly email: You could purchase these and get them to Joni or Dwaine, or buy an amazon gift card and forward it on!
