We're hitting the second message in our Jonah series this weekend!
Our musical special is Riverwide by Sheryl Crow, and you'll enjoy Emily on this one.... No lunch today to talk about creative stuff! With Labor Day weekend in play, lots of people out, we'll reset for next week. Firehouse is also pushing to NEXT Tuesday, Sept 9th for the same reason. Backpacks through Our Daily Bread, check the weekly email for details... do it for the children! Lego camps will be extending into the fall, so contact us if you have someone who might be interested... Next week is Jonah 3, it's going to be great! Thanks and we'll see you soon! ~The Surge

We're wrapping our RISK message series, with some goodness on Nehemiah...
A few announcements: Panera Bread - it is still our goal to get the word out about bread being available here - we're talking to groups all over the community about helping us spread the word. Lego camps will be extending into the fall, with some after school goodness, so if you, or someone you know might be interested - tell us and we'll help get you connected. We got our first check from Amazon smile! So a huge thank you to folks who are using that portal to shop at Amazon, that's very cool! Backpacks are being donated this year to kids in need through Our Daily Bread - check out the weekly newsletter or our facebook page for more info! Important: Next Sunday we're going to be having lunch to talk about our fall outreach events, so if you have ideas or want to participate, grab E and we'll get you invited! Thanks all, next week we're back to Jonah, chapter 2, so we'll SEA you later. Get it? SEA you later? Peace, ~The Surge We're kicking off our Jonah message series today, and finalizing RISK next week.
Our special is Paramore, Brick by Boring Brick... it's going to be fun! If you didn't already see it, check out our blog, we have a post on Esther that is an audio reading of a Story of Sifted... only the best for you guys! Remember that we are doing backpacks for kids in our area through Our Daily Bread - check the weekly newsletter and donate there. Grab E if you have any questions... It's not too late for Lego camps! Again, look to the newsletter for sign up info... Next Firehouse is Tuesday, September 2nd, right after labor day. Join us next week, E will be handing out free bricks and we'll talk about Nehemiah! You heard last week that he was the SECOND shortest man in the Bible... the shortest was Bildad the SHOE HEIGHT from the book of Job. See you soon! ~The Surge We are continuing the Story, in our RISK msg series, looking at the book of Esther!
Lego Camps are still going well, only a couple of weeks left! Next week will be our monthly SAW event, potluck and 90's songs for an open mic. Rumor has it that E will be doing Walking in Memphis, but that isn't confirmed. Small groups are still going strong, and E is sponsoring a trip to watch the Marine Band this coming Thursday night... so if you haven't seen them and you want to - contact him and he'll get you connected. In weather, tomorrow will be Muggy. Followed by Tueggy, Wiggy, and Thurggy. We'll see if Emily gets through that one without laughing. Next week, E will be talking about one of the shortest men in the Bible - Knee High Miah! And rebuilding the walls... it's going to be great! If you have any masons or friends in construction, bring em in! We hope to see you soon! ~The Surge We're continuing our RISK message series, along with the Story, the chronological look through the Bible. Our topic this week is The Return Home...
We're still getting donations from Panera Bread - help us get the word out that free bread is available at the Theatre on Sunday mornings for anyone who needs it! Lego Camps are ongoing - they are building robots and it's pretty cool. I would like to be the first to say, "we love you and we welcome you" to our new robot overlords, just in case the camp goes a little better than we anticipate. Small groups are continuing through the summer - please let me or Dwaine know if you're interested and we'll get you connected. In the past we've done backpacks with Longfellow middle school, but the process has changed a bit. We still want to support this effort as the Surge - but we're asking folks to give directly to Our Daily Bread - they are coordinated 10,000 dollars worth of backpacks and supporting local schools all over the area. Details are in the weekly email or on facebook. Next week it's the story of Esther and you don't want to miss it! We look forward to seeing you soon! ~The Surge |
