It's that time of year, so we'll be talking about Groundhog Day today! Probably kidding...It's Christmas in December, so we'll have a lovely version of Silent Night.
People in our area will often look for year end gifts, we thank you for your generosity! Caroling was a great success! We sang and visited with the residents and their families at Powhatan Nursing home as Greg led us with his canoe in one hand and 100 horrible deer puns in the other. Cookie exchange is today - so if you're wanting to help talk to Nickie Wright and she'll get you plugged in! They are going to have lunch, then meet over at the Barn. NO SERVICE ON DECEMBER 28th! But we will have an online message you can tune in to... check your facebook and email! After the first of the year, we'll be launching some amazing training as we lead into small groups! On January 8th, 15th and 22nd we'll be showing some national leaders talking about change, then discussing ideas for where we go as a church in the coming year. So come, bring dinner with you and dream with us! Next Firehouse is Tuesday, Jan 6th! Also, we've heard that Tysons Corner mall is completely empty today, so if you have any last minute shopping, you'll be able to get in and get out really easily - no crowds at all! CHRISTMAS EVE - this Wed afternoon. At 2:30, we'll kickoff with hot chocolate, cookies and the best music you've ever heard, ever. Karen on harp and her friend Lisa-Beth Lambert, a first violinist in the Philadelphia orchestra will be playing some Christmas music... these are premiere orchestral musicians and they will be worth the trip! We'll still be the Surge, so expect some laughter and love and some generosity, but it will be a heart warming afternoon - so bring people! There are invites on the tables and an event on facebook you can share. That's it... we'll see you soon! ~The Surge
